Sébastien Marcelin-Rice Hired as Partner by Baker & McKenzie

Global law firm Baker & McKenzie hired Sébastien Marcelin-Rice for a London legal job, according to a press release.

Marcelin-Rice joins the practice as a partner and will serve the banking and finance division. He left the London office of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where he was a senior associate.

“We’re delighted to welcome Sébastien into our expanding Banking and Finance practice,” said Bernard Sharp, head of London Banking & Finance and Global Chair of Banking and Finance with Baker & McKenzie Head. “His broad financing experience over the last nine years and his more specific focus in emerging markets transactions and leveraged finance, resonates very well with our strengths as a practice, as well as our priorities for growth in London.”

He said that Baker & McKenzie is one of a small number of law firms that maintain a strong presence on six continents for global banking and finance practice purposes, also noting that the firm is attractive because of its drive to continue developing.

Trilingual in English, French and Italian, the new partner will focus on sponsor and lender leveraged finance work, the press release states.
