Former Ceridian General Counsel Michael Sheridan & Junaid Odubeko, Former Legal Counsel to Gov. Phil Bredesen, Join Butler Snow

Michael W. Sheridan joins Butler Snow’s Banking, Real Estate and Financial Services Group, and Junaid A. Odubeko joins the firm’s Commercial Litigation Group. Sheridan will focus on business planning and operations, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, business structure and capitalization and data privacy and information protection. Odubeko will focus on commercial litigation and governmental law.

Sheridan previously served as general counsel for Ceridian Corp., a global human resources, payroll, benefits and payment solutions company with revenues of $1.5 billion and approximately 8,000 employees. He was also general counsel for Comdata Corp., a Brentwood, Tenn. electronic payment solutions provider. Sheridan received a bachelor’s degree cum laude from Vanderbilt University and Juris Doctorate from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where he served as managing editor of the Tennessee Law Review. Sheridan was recognized in the Nashville Business Journal’s 2007 Best of the Bar. He is a member of the American, Tennessee and Nashville Bar Associations, and Association of Corporate Counsel and American Payroll Association.

Odubeko has served as legal counsel to Gov. Phil Bredesen. In this role, he was responsible for coordinating the legal affairs of the executive branch for the governor and advising him on legal matters on a day-to-day basis. Before joining the governor’s office, Odubeko practiced in the area of civil litigation at the Memphis law firm of Burch, Porter and Johnson. He earned a bachelor’s degree magna cum laude from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and a Juris Doctorate from Vanderbilt University Law School. Odubeko is a member of the Tennessee, Nashville, and Napier-Looby Bar Associations.
