Cozen O’Connor Announces Addition of Utilities Attorney

Cozen O’Connor, among the 100 largest U.S. law firms, announced that utilities lawyer David P. Zambito has joined the firm as a member of the Business Law Department in the Harrisburg, Pa., office. One of Pennsylvania’s premier utility attorneys, Zambito served as principal legal advisor to former PA Public Utility Commission (PUC) Chairman and Commissioner Glen Thomas. He formerly was a principal at Post & Schell in Harrisburg.

Zambito will practice with Cozen O’Connor’s Energy, Environmental and Public Utilities Practice Group, focusing his work on regulatory and commercial issues involving utilities. He represents and advises clients engaged in the delivery of energy (electricity, natural gas, propane and steam), telecommunications, water, wastewater, and transportation services. His practice includes representation before state and federal agencies.

In addition to his experience with the PA Public Utility Commission, Zambito was commissioned by PA Governor Mark Schweiker in 2002 as a member of the Pennsylvania Homeland Security Advisory Council.

“We are very pleased to welcome David to the firm,” said Cozen O’Connor President and Executive Partner Michael J. Heller. “With his experience at the Public Utility Commission, and extensive industry knowledge and ties, David is one of the most widely recognized utility lawyers in Pennsylvania.”

“With David on our team, we look forward to expanding our strong presence in the utilities sector,” said Jeffrey A. Leonard, who serves on the firm’s Board of Directors and heads the firm’s Business Law Department. “His practice complements and deepens our capabilities in this important segment of Pennsylvania’s economy.”

Zambito earned his J.D. from The Dickinson School of Law. He was a member of the Dickinson Law Review and on the Appellate Moot Court Board. He received his bachelor’s degree from Grove City College, graduating magna cum laude.
