Continuing to expand its IP litigation capabilities, Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., announced the addition of Michael Renaud, James Wodarski and Michael McNamara, as Members in the firm’s Intellectual Property Section in Boston. Joining Mssrs. Renaud, Wodarski and McNamara are a group of associates who will also be practicing in the firm’s Intellectual Property Section. All are formerly of Pepper Hamilton.

A former Mintz Levin Member, Mr. Renaud specializes in patent litigation at both the International Trade Commission and U.S. district courts, and appeals to the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He focuses on litigating a wide range of technologies and has experience conducting reviews of patent portfolios for companies seeking to maximize the value of their portfolios, whether by asserting existing patent rights, or for the purpose of selling patents or patent portfolios. He also has provided due diligence for venture capital funds and other investors interested in assessing patent value and potential intellectual property opportunities from the sale or acquisition of intellectual property assets. A graduate of Duke University, he earned his J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and Connecticut, and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Also a former Mintz Levin Member, Mr. Wodarski brings a focus on patent and trademark litigation, representing high tech and life sciences companies throughout the country. In addition, he specializes in the defense of pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers in product liability actions. Mr. Wodarski has significant experience practicing before the U.S International Trade Commission in Section 337 investigations, as well as extensive appellate experience in the Federal Circuit. In his prior role at Mintz Levin Mr. Wodarski was involved in the firm’s Intellectual Property and Technology, Products Liability, and Insurance/Reinsurance practice groups. Prior to that he worked for another Boston based law firm, and served as an assistant district attorney for Hampden County (MA), where he regularly appeared before the Massachusetts Appeals Court and the Supreme Judicial Court. A graduate from George Washington University, he earned his J.D. from the Vanderbilt University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Mr. McNamara’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation, with an emphasis on patents relating to electrical systems, solid state devices, optical systems, semiconductor fabrication, computers, communication networks and software. He advises clients in all phases of litigation, from initial counseling through trial and appeal and works on cases involving cellular and land line telephone systems, network switching, fiber-optic systems, internet and search engine technology, on-demand video content and liquid crystal display technology, among others. Earlier in his career, he was a partner with Goodwin Procter. Prior to attending law school, he worked as a telephone systems consultant for IMA, Inc. designing call center systems for AT&T and spent two years at Digital Equipment Corporation as a design engineer developing and testing high speed network switches for enterprise class servers. A graduate of Tufts University, he earned his J.D. from George Washington University Law School. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, New York and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
