Karen Hockstad Joins Dinsmore’s Columbus Office

Dinsmore is pleased to announce that Karen Hockstad has joined the firm’s Columbus office as a partner in the Corporate Department.

Hockstad represents businesses in complex commercial litigation matters, business and tax law, business succession planning, employment law and related litigation, including non-competition agreements, real estate litigation, and intellectual property litigation. She also maintains nearly 20 years of experience with all facets of corporate law, ranging from basic business set-up to multi-million dollar merger and acquisition transactions.

Hockstad is active in the Columbus community and currently sits on the Board for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Central Ohio which honored her with the Volunteer of the Year in 2011. She also serves as a Trustee for the Conway Center for Family Business, a resource center for local family-owned businesses. Hockstad is a member of the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Development Board, where she helped to raise money for oncology research and child abuse prevention and has served on various other community foundation boards throughout her career. Hockstad is a recipient of both the Columbus Bar Association’s Community Service Award and the Business First 40 Under 40 Award, and was named Woman of the Year by the National Association of Professional Women in 2010/2011.

She earned her LL.M. in Taxation from Capital University Law School, her J.D. from Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University and her B.A. from the University of Michigan.
