Archer & Greiner P.C. will establish an office in Monmouth County, N.J., expanding one of the region’s largest law firms with the addition of the three name partners of Nelson Supko & Hanlon LLC, Archer & Greiner President Christopher R. Gibson and ChairmanJames H. Carll announced today.
Effective Oct. 1, 2012, Brian M. Nelson and Michael P. Supko will join Archer & Greiner as Partners, and Christine Giordano Hanlon will join the firm as Of Counsel.
The additions expand Archer & Greiner’s regional network of offices to nine locations spanning New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and New York. The fourth largest law firm headquartered in New Jersey, Archer & Greiner will have more than 215 attorneys and more than 450 employees firm-wide as of Oct. 1.
In addition to its headquarters in Haddonfield, the firm has New Jersey offices in Hackensack, Princeton and Flemington. Additional offices are located in Philadelphia, Wilmington and Georgetown, Del., and New York City.
Archer & Greiner has established itself as one of the preeminent full-service law firms in the region, with clients that include some of the world’s largest corporations as well other large, mid-size and small businesses, major governmental agencies, nonprofit organizations and individuals. The firm provides representation and counsel in the full range of practice areas including corporate law, litigation, labor and employment, intellectual property, health care, real estate, trusts and estates, and family law.
The addition of a Monmouth County office enhances Archer & Greiner’s regional presence and robust full-service capabilities, adding depth and geographic breadth particularly in the areas of municipal and governmental law, government relations, real estate and development, and litigation.

Mr. Nelson, of Shrewsbury, represents public entities, elected and appointed officials, nonprofits and private and public corporations in legal and governmental affairs matters in New Jersey. His public representations include serving as Township Attorney to the Township of Middletown, Director of Law for the Borough of Tinton Falls, and Special County Counsel to the County of Monmouth.
Mr. Nelson is a member of the Board of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA), appointed by Gov. Chris Christie. He was a member of Gov. Christie’s transition team, and served as New Jersey counsel to Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney’s 2008 presidential campaign. Mr. Nelson is the former Executive Director of the New Jersey Republican State Committee and has served on various statewide campaigns.
Prior to serving as managing partner of Nelson Supko & Hanlon, Mr. Nelson represented public, nonprofit and private clients at Gibbons P.C., principally on matters relating to health care, redevelopment and economic development.
Mr. Supko, of Oceanport, practices in the areas of real estate, affordable housing, banking, finance, municipal law and general corporate law. He has served in the counsel’s office of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the Republican State Senate Office, as counsel to the Holmdel Board of Health, Special County Counsel to the County of Monmouth for various real estate acquisitions and as counsel to the Monmouth County Health Department. He currently serves as counsel to the Monmouth County Board of Recreation Commissioners, which supervises the Monmouth County Park System’s development and activities.
Prior to partnering with Mr. Nelson, Mr. Supko represented various public and private clients at Gluck Walrath LLP, principally on matters relating to real estate, affordable housing and redevelopment.
Ms. Hanlon, of Ocean Township, focuses her practice on municipal law and civil litigation. She has more than 20 years of litigation experience, both civil and criminal, including more than three years as an Assistant District Attorney in Bronx County, N.Y., where she prosecuted white collar, narcotics and violent felony cases as a member of the Arson and Economic Crime Unit. She also served as the law clerk to the Hon. A. Simon Chrein, Chief United States Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of New York. Her private practice experience includes representing automobile manufacturers, insurance companies and other corporate and individual clients in litigation matters involving products liability, personal injury, asbestos, toxic tort, intellectual property and criminal cases.
Ms. Hanlon serves as Municipal Prosecutor for the Borough of Atlantic Highlands and Deputy Borough Attorney for the Borough of Tinton Falls. She is also a Commissioner on the Monmouth County Board of Elections. Ms. Hanlon also served as a member of Governor Christie’s transition team for the Office of the Attorney General. In 2009, she was elected as the Republican State Committeewoman for the County of Monmouth.
Ms. Hanlon’s extensive community involvement includes serving as a Trustee of the Monmouth County Bar Association and the Monmouth County Bar Foundation. She is a former President of the Greater Ocean Township Chamber of Commerce, and a founder and past President of the Board of Trustees for the Community Hope Fund, a local charitable organization that promotes positive youth development.
With the latest additions, Archer & Greiner continues an ongoing expansion of its regional presence over the past several years. In May 2011, the firm added more than 30 attorneys and a northern New Jersey location in Hackensack through a merger with the former Herten, Burstein, Sheridan, Cevasco, Bottinelli, Litt & Harz LLC.
