Kenneth A. Godlewski Joins Troutman Sanders’ Washington, D.C. Office

The law firm of Troutman Sanders LLP is pleased to announce the addition of partner Kenneth A. Godlewski to its intellectual property group in Washington, D.C.

Prior to joining Troutman Sanders, Godlewski was previously a partner at Arent Fox LLP and Kilpatrick Stockton. He has extensive patent trial experience starting in 1994 in diverse technical areas while focusing on financial services, banking, and insurance patent disputes in defense of large financial service companies related to call center, encryption, imaging, data transmission, smart cards, and Dodd Frank related issues.

Godlewski has also represented clients in a variety of patent litigation cases, including the involvement of famous golfers, Oscar® winners, and the overhead Skycam® used in sporting events. He has successfully tried patent cases to verdict and before the bench in numerous jurisdictions throughout the United States acting as trial counsel in a three-week trial involving Caribbean Stud Poker® in the District of Colorado, multi-week jury patent jury trial involving maintenance of military composite aircraft in the Northern District of Ohio, medical device companies in various federal district courts, and telecom applications in the Eastern District of Virginia.

While focusing on patent litigation, Godlewski also counsels clients in trademark and copyright issues, patent portfolio development and revenue generation, and patent post-grant procedures in the Patent and Trademark office having participated in numerous high profile reexaminations in defense of alleged infringers.

Godlewski was the first law clerk to the Honorable Paul R. Matia in the Northern District of Ohio after receiving a J.D. from Ohio State University School of Law in 1991, and a B.S. from College of Wooster in 1986. He is admitted to practice in Washington, D.C. as well as various federal trial and appellate courts throughout the country.
