Magnusson launches an office in Riga, the capital of Latvia, as a part of its on-going expansion in the Baltic States. At the same time, Magnusson is further boosting its coverage in Belarus.
The opening in Riga is a response to client demand for integrated, seamless services throughout the Baltic Sea Region and this is a clear reflection of Magnusson’s recent dynamic growth. After the launch of offices in Malmö and Tallinn in January and April 2012 respectively, Magnusson expanded to Oslo in August 2012.
The new office is fully operational as of 3 October 2012 and includes eight lawyers including four partners, with prominent M&A lawyer Gints Vilgerts at the helm. Gints joins together with the Riga Varul team where he headed up Latvian operations.
Magnusson Riga advises domestic and international clients on corporate, M&A, competition, banking and finance, dispute resolution, tax and regulatory matters. The team members are highly ranked by independent standard setting publications, such as Chambers Europe 2012 and Legal 500 EMEA 2012.
At the same time, Magnusson is bolstering its presence in Minsk with the addition of two lawyers who have been cooperating with the Riga team on the Belarusian market.
