Maynard, Cooper & Gale, P.C. is pleased to announce that Matthew B. Reeves, Emily A. Jones, and Ryan J. Letson have joined the firm’s Huntsville office.
Matthew B. Reeves has joined the firm as a Shareholder in the Litigation and Government Contracts and Bid Protests practice groups. He has broad experience in both trial and appellate courts (federal and state) and in alternative dispute resolution forums handling disputes involving complex commercial, intellectual property, securities and corporate governance, civil rights, and government contract matters. In addition to his trial practice, he assists clients in creating strategies to obtain, protect, and commercialize their intellectual property. Mr. Reeves is a member of the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, the Huntsville-Madison County Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Alabama Defense Lawyer’s Association Young Lawyers Executive Board, the Defense Research Institute, and Leadership Huntsville-Madison County (Leadership Class 25 and Connect Class 5).
Mr. Reeves graduated from the University of Tulsa College of Law where he was a member and Senior Articles Editor for the Energy Law Journal and for the Year in Review: ABA Section on Natural Resources, Energy, and Environmental Law. Mr. Reeves graduated with a B.B.A. from Texas Tech University in his undergraduate studies.
Emily A. Jones is an Associate in the Banking and Commercial Lending practice groups. She represents financial institutions, commercial lenders, landlords, and other secured and unsecured creditors in workouts, commercial litigation, bankruptcy cases and adversary proceedings. She also assists commercial lenders with documenting, securing, and closing commercial transactions. In addition, Ms. Jones handles construction litigation and general litigation matters. Ms. Jones is a member of the Alabama State Bar Association and the Huntsville-Madison County Bar Association.
Ms. Jones graduated from the Vanderbilt University School of Law where she was a member of the Vanderbilt Trial Advocacy Society, Phi Delta Phi, the Women Law Students Association, and the Law and Business Society. Prior to law school, Ms. Jones graduated summa cum laude from Lipscomb University with a B.A. in political science.
Ryan J. Letson is an associate in the firm’s General Litigation and Government Contracts and Bid Protests practice groups. Mr. Letson’s practice is focused on general and business litigation. He also represents government contractors in matters including mergers and acquisitions and bid protests. He is a member of the Alabama State Bar and the American Bar Association.
Mr. Letson graduated from Cumberland School of Law where he was Student Bar Association President, a Judge Abraham Caruthers Fellow, a Scholar of Merit for Legal Writing, and a recipient of the American Law Institute-American Bar Association Award for Scholarship & Leadership. Mr. Letson was also a member of the American Journal of Trial Advocacy and the Henry Upson Sims Moot Court Board, and competed as an oral advocate on Cumberland’s National Moot Court Team. Mr. Letson received his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alabama.
