Maynard, Cooper & Gale, P.C. is pleased to announce that Jaime Betbeze has joined the firm’s Mobile office as a shareholder in the firm’s General Litigation practice group. Mr. Betbeze’s practice has special emphasis on admiralty, transportation law, and construction law. Mark Drew, managing partner of the firm, stated “Jaime brings more than 15 years of litigation experience and bolsters our firm’s offerings in the Mobile area with experience in admiralty, construction law, and regulatory compliance”.
Mr. Betbeze practices extensively in Alabama and Florida state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels. He has represented contractors, subcontractors, shipyards, property owners, and other businesses in commercial disputes and personal injury litigation. Mr. Betbeze also has experience in representing clients during OSHA inspections and contesting OSHA citations. Mr. Betbeze has broad political experience, having served as Legislative Assistant to Congressman Newt Gingrich and as Development Director for the Columbia Institute in Washington D.C. More recently, he served on the Executive Committee for the campaign of Congressman Jo Bonner. Mr. Betbeze is a member of the Mobile Bar Association, the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute (SEALI), the Transportation Lawyers Association (TLA), and the Defense Research Institute’s (DRI) Construction Law Committee. In addition, he is active in a number of civic organizations focusing primarily on historic preservation and has significant experience in preservation law. Mr. Betbeze is a graduate of Spring Hill College and the University of Alabama School of Law.
