Sean H. Cook has joined the law firm of Warner Norcross & Judd LLP as a partner.
Cook, who is also a certified public accountant, concentrates his practice in corporate and individual tax, estate planning, commercial law and mergers and acquisitions. He has extensive experience with transactions, including business formation, stock and asset sales, tax free reorganizations and related issues. He will practice in the firm’s Southfield office.
Prior to joining Warner, Cook was a shareholder at Butzel Long. His previous experience included Raymond & Prokop, P.C., and he has served as a CPA with both national and local accounting firms.
Cook is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He serves on the board of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants and the Michigan School of Professional Psychology, in addition to being a trustee of the John C. Lasko Foundation. He has been named to Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers and a Top Lawyer by DBusiness magazine.
Cook speaks and writes regularly on income and estate tax issues. He served as an adjunct instructor at his alma mater, Walsh College. He served as a past president of the Walsh Alumni Association.
Cook holds a bachelor of arts degree in economics from the University of Michigan, a master of science in taxation from Walsh College and a doctor of jurisprudence from Wayne State University.
