Donald R. Kirk Joins Carlton Fields’ Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Practice in Tampa

Carlton Fields is pleased to announce that Donald R. Kirk joined the firm today in its Tampa office as a shareholder. Kirk practices in the firm’s Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights practice group and concentrates his practice on the representation of businesses in all aspects of bankruptcy cases including bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, commercial litigation, and contract disputes.

Kirk previously served as chair of Fowler White Boggs’ Business and Appellate Litigation practice group. In that role, he also oversaw the firm’s Bankruptcy and Financial Restructuring practice.

Kirk is board certified in Business Bankruptcy Law by the American Board of Certification. He is vice chair of the American Bar Association Business Law Section’s Use and Disposition of Property Subcommittee and past president of the Tampa Bay Bankruptcy Bar Association. Kirk is also a member of the Hillsborough County Economic Development Corporation’s Financial Services and Cross Business Functions Task Force, the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Tampa Bay.

Kirk received his J.D., with high honors, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 1996 (Order of the Coif), and his B.A. from the University of Florida in 1993.
