The addition of two of Cassels Brocks’ newest partners, Andrew Salem and Matthew Peters, was recently highlighted in an article published on iflr.com titled “Former FMC Partners Bolster Canadian Firms”.
Both partners “pointed to their new firm’s scope as the real driver behind the move,” says IFLR. Says Andrew: “Recently my practice involves more energy and infrastructure projects. At Cassels I have an opportunity to be part of one of the country’s leading energy and infrastructure practices. As far as projects and transactions we will be part of multi-dimensional teams.” Matthew echoes: “Merger or no merger, there are fantastic opportunities at Cassels, given its strong clients and strong lawyers.”
Writes IFLR: “Though the partners work in different practices, they often cross paths on transactions concerning Canada’s mining and natural resources sector, an area in which Cassels Brock leads in both deal flow and value, according to Canada’s National Post.”
