William M. Savino, Managing Partner of Rivkin Radler LLP, has announced that Christopher J. Kutner has joined the firm as a Partner in the firm’s Health Services Practice Group.

Christopher J. Kutner, of Rockville Centre, is a partner in the firm’s Health Services Practice Group, resident in the Uniondale office. Mr. Kutner represents individual health care providers and physician groups, hospitals, managed care organizations, health care benefit administrators and suppliers of medical equipment. He is a member of the International Association of Independent Private Sector Inspectors General (IAIPSIG).
In 1998, Mr. Kutner joined Vytra Health Plans as their associate general counsel. Soon thereafter, he designed and implemented Vytra’s first corporate compliance program and served as the chief compliance and privacy officer. He ultimately served as special assistant and counsel to the president/CEO, focusing on strategic planning, product development and regulatory compliance. After Vytra was acquired by Health Insurance Plan (HIP) of Greater New York, he served as corporate counsel and regulatory compliance counsel for the larger organizations while assuming the role as General Counsel at Vytra. He was chosen by the Executive Management of HIP to assist them with affiliating with Group Health Incorporated.
Mr. Kutner began his career as a commercial litigator where he gained experience representing local, national and global companies in civil and criminal matters in State and Federal courts. He has tried cases to verdict in State Supreme Court and to decision in Federal Court. He has successfully argued appeals in the Appellate Division of New York State Supreme Court.
Mr. Kutner was appointed to the New York Hospital Queens Community Advisory Council (2010); elected first vice president (2012) and a member of Farmingdale State College Foundation’s board of directors (2010); appointed to the advisory board of Stony Brook University’s Center of Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology (CEWITT) Medical Division (2009); and appointed co-chair of the American Red Cross, Long Island’s board of trustees (2011) and board of directors, Nassau County (2008). He is a former board member of the Brooklyn/Queens Council of the New York Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Mr. Kutner enlisted in the military at age nineteen and served four years active duty in the U.S. Air Force. He earned the Air Force Commendation Medal and was honorably discharged.
Mr. Kutner earned his Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law.
