Senior environmental lawyer and a former attorney for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), David Rabbino, has joined Tonkon Torp.
The newest member of the firm’s broad-based and growing Environmental & Natural Resources Practice Group, Rabbino will focus on environmental and natural resources litigation. He has more than 20 years of experience in environmental law, and has represented both plaintiffs and defendants. Among the high profile cases in which he has been involved, he was co-lead counsel for a former paper manufacturing company in a lawsuit regarding the $1 billion cleanup of PCB-contaminated sediments in Wisconsin’s Lower Fox River/Green Bay Superfund site.
Prior to joining Tonkon Torp, Rabbino was a shareholder with Hunsucker Goodstein in Lafayette, California. Before spending more than a decade in private practice, he had a distinguished 11-year career with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, where he was instrumental in the development of national policy on Superfund issues. Rabbino has been recognized the past five consecutive years as a Super Lawyer in environmental litigation.
“David’s experience as a successful litigator, combined with his first-hand knowledge of procedures inside EPA makes him a great addition to our environmental law practice,” said Max M. Miller, Jr., chair of the firm’s practice group. “Attracting someone with David’s credentials is an exciting step in the continued advancement of our environmental practice.”
