Orrick announced today that Bernadette Accili has joined the firm as a partner in our tax practice, based in Milan. Bernadette previously practiced at LMS, where she led the firm’s tax practice, and Paul Hastings, where she served as chair of the firm’s tax practice in Milan.
Bernadette brings 25+ years of experience in the tax aspects involved in structured and asset finance deals, with a special focus on securitisation, NPLs, distressed debt trading and alternative lending. In addition, she advises on corporate restructurings, mergers and reorganizations. Bernadette also brings expertise in complex tax litigation before the Italian courts and the Court of Justice of the European Union.

Bernadette will be joined by associate Domenico Gioia, and will work closely with Orrick’s Italian Tax team of Giovanni Leoni, Flavio Notari and Camillo Melotti Caccia. Bernadette earned an LL.M from the College of Europe, Bruges, and an LL.M from Georgetown University Law Center.
