Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll PLLC, a leading national plaintiffs’ law firm headquartered in Washington, D.C., announced today that Judge Martha Geer of the North Carolina Court of Appeals will join the firm in May as a partner and head of the firm’s new North Carolina office.
Judge Geer, who has served on the N.C. Court of Appeals for more than 13 years, gained 19 years of trial and appellate experience in complex civil litigation prior to being elected to serve on the court. At Cohen Milstein, she will litigate cases across the firm’s many practice areas at both the trial and appellate levels.
“I am honored to have been trusted by the citizens of North Carolina to serve them on the Court of Appeals for the past 13 years,” said Judge Geer. “I am now thrilled to have been given this once in a lifetime opportunity to bring to our State one of the most widely respected firms in the country in the area of complex civil litigation. I look forward to joining such an extraordinary group of attorneys.”
“We are delighted that Judge Martha Geer will be joining Cohen Milstein,” said Cohen Milstein Managing Partner Steven J. Toll. “In addition to her impeccable reputation as a judge, she is a highly regarded litigator and appellate advocate, making her a perfect match for Cohen Milstein. We are excited about the opportunity to expand our firm’s presence to North Carolina.”
