Honigman Opens New Grand Rapids Office

Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP has officially opened its office in downtown Grand Rapids, marking another milestone in the firm’s strategic growth and talent acquisition plan.

The opening comes just weeks after the firm announced that leading corporate lawyer Tracy T. Larsen would spearhead its new venture.  Larsen has one of the most active corporate practices in the Midwest and is co-chair of Honigman’s Mergers and Acquisitions practice.

“Honigman is open for business in Grand Rapids and client support has been incredible,” said Larsen, who serves as the office managing partner.  “In fact, we will soon be closing on our third M&A transaction out of our new office.”

Larsen was quickly joined by another experienced Grand Rapids attorney Kenneth W. Vermeulen, who focuses his practice on real estate and environmental matters.  Both left the Grand Rapids office of Barnes & Thornburg LLP to anchor the new Honigman office.  “Virtually all our clients regionally, nationally and internationally have transitioned with us,” said Larsen.

Doug Siegel, partner and vice chair of Honigman’s Intellectual Property department, and Meredith Ervine, a partner focusing on public companies and capital markets, have also joined the new office.  They previously served their clients from the firm’s Kalamazoo office.

“In Grand Rapids, Honigman offers experienced local attorneys, supported by a full-service law firm with an outstanding reputation,” said David Foltyn, Chairman and CEO.  “We help our clients gain ground through legal excellence, integrity and outstanding client service.”

Headquartered in Detroit, Honigman expanded into the Chicago market in 2015, strengthening the firm’s Litigation, Intellectual Property, Life Sciences Litigation and Commercial Transactions practices.  Grand Rapids is the firm’s seventh office location.
