Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge is pleased to announce that attorney Tyler J. Anderson has joined the firm and will be practicing in its medical malpractice defense practice group in the Grand Rapids office.
Prior to joining Smith Haughey, Tyler worked as a judicial law clerk for Justice Dan Schmidt of the Illinois Appellate Court, Third District. Before his clerkship, Tyler worked for an Illinois law firm where he focused his practice on defense litigation. He worked on cases in a variety of practice areas and industries, including transportation (railroad and trucking), general tort defense, commercial litigation, toxic torts, and appellate claims. He successfully obtained summary judgment on several occasions for a railroad client, helped obtained a defense verdict for the same railroad client at a trial in federal court, and successfully defended a favorable summary judgment on appeal in a premises liability case.
Tyler graduated from Bradley University with a B.S., summa cum laude, in philosophy and history, where he was also a member of the university’s baseball team. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from Indiana University.
