Bankruptcy lawyer David Kidd was recruited by international law firm Linklaters this week, according to a firm press release. The Hong Kong attorney will start the new job next month.
With significant restructuring experience in Asia since 1998, Kidd has an established reputation in the practice area. The firm cites demand from its existing corporate clients for insolvency and restructuring work as the prime motivation for the hire.
Linklaters Asia managing partner Stuart Salt stated: “The R&I practice is an extremely important part of the firm’s business, enabling us to service clients at each stage of the economic cycle, and we already have a terrific platform in the region having advised on major insolvency events such as Lehman and MF Global. David is one of the leading R&I lawyers in the region and we are excited about further developing this side of our business with him.”
Kidd received his LLB from Auckland University and joins the firm from Allen & Overy.
