Leading international law firm Clifford Chance has advised China Huishan Dairy Holdings Co. Ltd, on its US$1.3 billion listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
This is the second largest listing in Hong Kong so far in 2013, and follows China Galaxy Securities US$1.07 billion IPO, the third largest listing in May this year, on which Clifford Chance also advised.
The funds raised will be used to build new dairy farms, increase its stock of cattle and to build a new milk powder processing plant. Huishan Dairy is China’s largest integrated dairy farm.
“I’m delighted to have advised China Huishan on its very successful IPO,” said partner Cherry Chan, who co-led on this transaction. “The China dairy industry is a high-growth segment and attractive to both institutional and retail investors, with the listing well oversubscribed.”
Corporate partners Cherry Chan and Virginia Lee led on this deal and were supported by consultant John Baptist Chan and associates Cheris Wong and Grace Huang on Hong Kong law, with Shanghai Capital Markets partner Jean Thio and Hong Kong senior associate Naiting Cao advising on the US law aspects.
