Two partners are set to fill Hong Kong legal jobs for international law firm DLA Piper, according to a press release.
Joyce Chan and Heng Loong Cheong are leaving jobs closely associated with Dewey & LeBoeuf.
The two are also taking a group of lawyers with them to their new jobs.
“Joyce and Heng Loong are very high caliber lawyers with impressive reputations advising insurance companies on complex transactions,” managing director Bob Charlton with DLA Piper Asia-Pacific said. “We will be delighted to welcome both Joyce and Heng Loong to our Hong Kong office where they will not only significantly boost our corporate offering locally but across our global platform too.”
Chan and Cheong are the firm’s most recent targets of legal recruitment as five other attorneys came aboard earlier this year. Chan was the principal of Joyce Sze Ho Chan & Co., a firm associated with Dewey & LeBoeuf. Cheong is a corporate lawyer whose work includes public and private acquisitions, complex corporate reorganizations and capital market transactions, among additional tasks.
The firm has been strengthening its offices in London, New York and Boston recently, according to the press release.
