Kirkland & Ellis is pleased to announce that Richard Sharpe has joined the Firm’s Hong Kong office as a partner in the Government and Internal Investigations Group. Mr. Sharpe joins Kirkland from the Hong Kong office of Clifford Chance.
Mr. Sharpe, dually qualified as a Hong Kong solicitor and a U.K. barrister, focuses on assisting multinational clients with a variety of white-collar and international risk matters, including anti-bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering, international sanctions, cyber-crime, and other cross-border investigations.
“Richard has built a reputation as one of the rising stars in international risk investigations and compliance matters in Asia, with valuable related litigation and arbitration experience,” said Cori Lable, a senior partner in Kirkland’s Asia Government and Internal Investigations Group. “We are delighted to have him join the Hong Kong office as Kirkland continues to expand our Government and Internal Investigations practice in the region.”
He holds a M.A. (Jurisprudence) from New College, Oxford University. He is noted in Chambers Asia-Pacific (2018) as an “Up and Coming” lawyer and in The Legal 500 Hong Kong (2018) as a “Next Generation” lawyer in the fields of investigations, anti-corruption and compliance.
