Dentons Hong Kong is pleased to announce that Vivien Teu will join Dentons Hong Kong as a Partner for the Investment Funds and Corporate practice areas. Vivien will be Head of Asset Management and ESG, with her focus advising regional and global asset managers and financial institutions on legal and regulatory matters in asset management and diverse forms of investment funds, and on corporate and regulatory issues around environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) and sustainable finance. Vivien is currently Managing Partner of Vivien Teu & Co LLP, a Hong Kong firm with established reputation particularly in the areas of asset management, investment funds, securities regulatory and wealth management.
Vivien also has extensive experience in cross-border securities and investments transactions, inbound and outbound mergers & acquisitions. Vivien has received commendations by Asialaw profiles for three consecutive years (2018 to 2020) as a leading lawyer for the practice areas of investment funds and corporate M&A, and is listed by China Business Law Journal in the 2020 A-List Elite 100 foreign lawyers for China practice.
Prior to establishing her previous firm in 2015, Vivien previously held lead roles in China and Hong Kong funds practice at tier-one regional and global law firms Deacons and Clifford Chance, and as senior in-house legal counsel at a global investment management firm Invesco. Vivien will join Dentons Hong Kong with her team – Christina Suen, counsel, together with an associate and a trainee solicitor, upon completing procedures for cessation of practice at her law firm in March.
“We are thrilled to welcome Vivien and her team to Dentons Hong Kong,” said Keith Brandt, Managing Partner of Dentons Hong Kong. “Vivien is a highly regarded funds and corporate lawyer who will add significant depth to our investment funds and corporate practices in Hong Kong, with Vivien’s diverse and extensive experience in the asset management and financial services industry.”
“Vivien will be a great addition to the firm,” said Gordon Ng, Head of Corporate Finance of Dentons Hong Kong. “Her varied experience and knowledge further expand our investment funds and corporate practices.”
“I am truly delighted to be joining the Dentons Hong Kong team and look forward to working with my new colleagues,” said Vivien Teu. “This is a fantastic opportunity to deepen my practice on such a compelling platform. I am keen to further contribute to the industry with Dentons Hong Kong and the global Dentons network, especially as the investment industry and corporations are undergoing transformational changes in ESG and purposeful business.”
