Restructuring and Insolvency Lawyer Jonathan Leitch Joins Hogan Lovells in the Hong Kong Office

Hogan Lovells announced today that Jonathan Leitch will join the firm’s Finance practice today, as a restructuring and insolvency partner in the Hong Kong office. Leitch is recognised as a leading practitioner in APME with a broad practice in advising all types of stakeholders in the restructuring and insolvency of financially challenged companies. Leitch joins Hogan Lovells from DLA Piper in Hong Kong where he advised financial institutions, credit investors, insolvency office holders, turnaround specialists, hedge funds, private equity investors and corporations on restructurings, formal insolvencies, distressed M&A and other special situations.

Commenting on the hire, Matthew Cottis, Global Head of Hogan Lovells Finance practice group, said, “Jonathan’s experience adds significant depth to our restructuring team in Asia-Pacific. His appointment also comes at a time of significant growth for the firm’s Business Restructuring and Insolvency practice. Other global high-profile lateral additions to the practice include Philippe Druon, who joined the Hogan Lovells Paris office in April, David Simonds, who joined the firm in the Los Angeles Office in May and Judge Kevin Carey in September. Last year, Rick Wynne, Bennet Spiegel and Erin Brady joined the practice in Los Angeles.

His wide-ranging experience includes advising clients on cross-border matters including loan defaults, bond defaults, special situation financing, schemes of arrangement and consensual restructurings in and out of court. He has practised in London and Asia, and has been involved in a number of complex and high-profile restructurings and insolvencies. Recent work includes Pacific Andes, Noble Group, Essar Steel, China Energy Reserve and Chemicals Group and CEFC Shanghai International Group.
