Global law firm Shearman & Sterling today announces the appointment of Wanda Woo as a Capital Markets partner in Hong Kong. Her return to Shearman & Sterling adds to its capital markets offering in the Asian market, further strengthening the firm’s global platform. Prior to joining Shearman & Sterling, Wanda was a partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.
Wanda brings extensive experience advising on capital markets transactions in Hong Kong including initial public offerings, share placings, rights offerings and bond offerings, as well as regulatory and compliance matters. Her clients include leading investment banks and companies listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Wanda has also advised clients on mergers and acquisitions transactions under Hong Kong law.

Wanda is the 27th lateral hire for Shearman & Sterling in the last 12 months. Other recent lateral hires for the firm include Stephen Gruendel, a finance partner in New York, as well as London partners Maegen Morrison, mergers & acquisitions (M&A) and Matthew Skinner, international arbitration. Her appointment also follows further practice group and regional lateral hires over the last year including capital markets partner Emily Leitch in Houston and David Clinch, project development & finance partner in Singapore. As well as the relocation of M&A partner Richard Porter to Singapore.
