Sidley Austin LLP announced today that Timothy C. Langenkamp, a capital markets lawyer with extensive experience in energy transactions, has joined the firm as a partner. He is resident in the firm’s Houston office and a member of its Securities/Capital Markets practice group. This addition continues the expansion of Sidley’s Houston office and further enhances the firm’s energy-focused capital markets team.
Mr. Langenkamp brings deep, extensive experience to his role with Sidley. His practice is primarily focused on representing underwriters and issuers in debt and equity capital markets transactions, with a particular emphasis on offerings by master limited partnerships (MLPs). He counsels clients on securities law compliance, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other general corporate and securities matters.
His move to Sidley follows the recent hiring of Timothy J. Devetski, a tax partner in Houston who also advises clients on matters involving MLPs. Sidley now has 30 lawyers in its Houston office, which opened in February 2012.
“Tim is a talented capital markets lawyer with an exceptional reputation in the Houston legal community, and we are excited to bring him on board,” said Larry Barden, Vice Chair of Sidley’s Management Committee. “Our first year in Houston was a great success, and with Tim’s addition we continue to grow in the Houston office to meet our clients’ expanding needs. He and the rest of our capital markets team in Houston will be able to work closely with our teams in New York, Chicago, the West Coast and around the world to provide our clients with the best possible service.”
Mr. Langenkamp’s clients include investment banks, MLPs and publicly traded corporations. He has represented clients in a number of industries including energy, energy services, software and online web and application services. He joins Sidley from a Houston-based AmLaw 200 firm.
“Tim is a well-regarded capital markets lawyer in Houston,” said Mr. Devetski. “We are very pleased to have him join us and continue our momentum in Houston.”
“I’m excited by what Sidley is doing in Houston,” said Mr. Langenkamp. “The firm’s strong capital markets capabilities and broad international platform provide me with a great opportunity to expand the services I provide to clients.”
