The global law firm Jones Day is pleased to announce that Darrell Taylor has joined the Houston Office as a partner in the Capital Markets Practice focused on the energy, energy services, and petrochemical industries. He was formerly a partner with Baker Botts L.L.P. in Houston.

Mr. Taylor handles a broad range of corporate and securities matters, including initial public offerings, large U.S. and international debt and equity offerings, tender and exchange offers, and other SEC matters. He has also helped clients negotiate, document, and complete mergers and acquisitions and divestitures and prepare for and respond to takeover bids.
“Darrell’s experience will be an asset to our clients in Houston and in important capital markets around the world,” said Christopher Kelly, who leads Jones Day’s Capital Markets Practice worldwide.
Prior to joining Jones Day, Mr. Taylor represented issuers such as LyondellBasell Industries N.V., KBR, Inc., Hydril Company, Equistar Chemical Company, Pennzoil-Quaker State Company, Cornell Companies, and Purolator Products in IPOs or other going public transactions, and represented underwriters such as Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch in IPOs for W&T Offshore, Inc., ATP Oil & Gas Corporation, and Energy Partners, Ltd. He also served as lead securities lawyer in multiple equity issuance, debt issuance, and exchange offer transactions for Pennzoil Company, Halliburton Company, Lyondell Chemical Company, Pennzoil-Quaker State, Equistar Chemical, Millennium Chemical Company, Hydril, and Living Centers of America Inc.
Mr. Taylor is a graduate of the University of Texas (J.D. with honors 1984; B.B.A. in Finance with honors 1981).
