International law firm K&L Gates announced the opening of a new location in Houston, Texas this week.  Partner Charles Strauss moves from Fulbright & Jaworski to head the office, bringing a strong corporate practice with him.

The firm will now have four total offices in Texas, with locations in Austin, Dalls, and Fort Worth.  It brings the U.S. location count to 25 offices and 47 total worldwide.

The recruitment of Strauss provides a strong platform for the firm to grow its Houston practice.   His corporate practice includes securities, M&A, joint ventures, divestitures and more, primarily serving clients in the energy, transportation, and information technology sectors.  He is a 1982 graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law and attended Emory for undergraduate studies.  The attorney made partner at Fulbright in 1991.
