William Scott Matney has joined Porter Hedges as a partner in the Litigation Practice Group. Scott’s practice focuses on commercial litigation, arbitration and mediation.
Scott represents clients in commercial litigation across a number of areas, including oil and gas, breach of contract, deceptive trade practices, fraud, creditor’s rights, trade secrets, employment disputes, environmental pollution, real estate disputes, landlord-tenant, and franchising. He has litigated disputes for clients in over 100 counties across Texas.
“Scott is a great addition to our litigation practice. He is an accomplished, first-chair trail lawyer and adds even more depth to our strong litigation practice,” said Managing Partner Rob Reedy.
Scott joins the firm from the Houston office of Hunton & Williams. He received his J.D. from the University of Houston and his BBA from The University of Texas. Scott is admitted to practice in all Texas state courts, in the United States District Courts for the Southern, Northern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, and in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
