Baker Botts Welcomes Renowned International Arbitration Partner

Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international law firm specializing in energy, technology, and complex disputes, is pleased to announce the addition of Ben Love as a Litigation Partner in the Firm’s Houston office, where he will focus on International Disputes.

With over 50 high-profile commercial and investment disputes under his belt, Love is recognized as a global leader in international arbitration and public international law. His experience spans a variety of industries—with a focus on energy, mining, technology, and aerospace—and he has represented clients in arbitrations governed by all major arbitral rules and in post-award proceedings.

Throughout his career working for leading international arbitration practices in Houston, New York, Paris, and Washington D.C., Love has a relentless focus on securing the best outcomes for his clients. He has demonstrated success in leading complex arbitrations and advising multinational clients on disputes worth billions of dollars, including in some of the most high-stakes disputes submitted to arbitration in the past decade.

“Ben’s exceptional arbitration expertise and deep industry knowledge are an ideal fit within our already formidable team of International Disputes lawyers,” said Danny David, Managing Partner. “Ben’s presence further strengthens our ability to serve clients in critical markets and expands our reach in key regions. I am profoundly grateful to call him a Baker Botts partner.”

Dr. Johannes Koepp, Global co-head of Baker Botts’ International Disputes group, added, “We have followed Ben’s amazing successes for years and are absolutely thrilled to welcome him to the Firm. He will have an immediate impact as member of our International Disputes team at Baker Botts. Ben’s extensive experience and proven track record in international arbitration will be invaluable as we continue to grow our practice and deliver exceptional results for our clients, both in Texas and around the world.”

“I am thrilled about the opportunity to return to my home state of Texas to join Baker Botts, the ideal platform to service my clients’ dispute resolution and risk-management needs,” said Love. “The firm’s focus on energy and technology, two increasingly converging industries, coincides perfectly with my experience and skillset. I look forward to collaborating with the firm’s talented team of lawyers to ensure exceptional outcomes for clients in their most complex and important legal and business challenges.”

Active in the global arbitration community, Love serves on the Executive Council of the American Society of International Law, is a member of the Advisory Board of the Institute for Transnational Arbitration, and teaches international investment law and arbitration at Brooklyn Law School.

Love earned his B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin, a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, and a D.E.S.S. in Global Economic Law from Université de Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne.
