Edel Cuadra has joined LeClairRyan as a partner on the firm’s Labor and Employment team. He is resident in the national law firm’s Houston office.
Cuadra advises employers on federal and state labor and employment laws such as:
- The Fair Labor Standards Act
- Title VII of the Civil Rights Act
- The Family and Medical Leave Act
- The Americans with Disabilities Act
- The Occupational Safety and Health Act
- The Age Discrimination in Employment Act
Cuadra represents employers in litigation, arbitrations, and agency proceedings. In addition to single-plaintiff litigation, Cuadra has experience with collective actions, class actions and other complex multi-party litigation involving wages, overtime, discrimination, retaliation, non-compete agreements, trade secrets, workplace-injury and employment taxes. He also counsels clients on compliance with federal and state regulations affecting employers.
Additionally, Cuadra works with federal and state agencies tasked with enforcing labor and employment laws. He represents clients in administrative hearing and proceedings before federal and state agencies, such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, U.S. Department of Labor, National Labor Relations Board, Internal Revenue Service, Department of Homeland Security, and Texas Workforce Commission, among others.
A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin (B.A.) and Baylor University (J.D.), Cuadra is admitted in Texas.
