Corporate attorney David E. Taylor has joined Holland & Knight’s Houston office as a partner. He was formerly a shareholder with Chamberlain Hrdlicka.
“We are extremely pleased to add Dave to our growing team in Houston,” said Brad Hancock, executive partner of Holland & Knight’s Houston office. “Dave is a seasoned attorney whose skills and services are particularly important now that we are seeing increased private investment activity, especially in the energy sector.”
Mr. Taylor’s practice focuses on advising on federal and state securities matters, complex commercial transactions and general corporate matters, including domestic and offshore company formation and operation, investment and reorganization issues. He regularly advises clients on the establishment and operation of investment companies, including hedge funds, private equity funds and real estate funds. In the past two years, Mr. Taylor has served as lead securities counsel on more than $1 billion in privately placed securities offerings.
“Holland & Knight has a large financial services practice that is strong in Texas and nationwide,” said Mr. Taylor. “With that kind of support, I’m sure I can bring my growing investment management and private fund formation practice to the next level and provide my clients with numerous opportunities.”
Mr. Taylor received an LL.M. degree in securities and financial regulation from Georgetown University Law Center, a J.D. degree from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law and a B.B.A. degree from Texas A&M University. He is admitted to practice in Texas and Washington, D.C.
