Michael J. Blankenship has joined Locke Lord’s Houston office as a Partner in the Firm’s Corporate Practice Group. Blankenship brings a strong capital markets and M&A background and an entrepreneurial approach to the nationally recognized Corporate team at Locke Lord.
“Locke Lord has experienced several years of robust growth in M&A, and Mike’s arrival marks another important step in building upon the momentum that we’ve established,” said David Taylor, Chair of the Firm’s Capital Markets section and Office Managing Partner of the Houston office. “His knowledge of the capital markets space combined with his investment banking relationships and experience representing clients in the energy sector makes him a great addition to the Firm and the Houston office.”
Blankenship focuses his practice in corporate finance and securities laws, including M&A and private equity work with both investors and their portfolio companies. His capital markets experience includes counseling both issuers and underwriters in initial public offerings as well as public and private equity and debt offerings. Blankenship also offers general corporate representation for clients, including master limited partnerships. He has assisted clients on both federal and state regulatory issues, including SEC filings, CFTC and FINRA matters.
Blankenship’s arrival comes on the heels of the additions of Partners Jim Coffey and Sean Page in the Corporate Practice Group in the Firm’s Boston and London offices, respectively. Blankenship joins Locke Lord from Vinson & Elkins LLP.
