Nationally Recognized IP Lawyer Joins Shook Hardy & Bacon

Shook, Hardy & Bacon expands its growing Intellectual Property Practice with the addition of leading IP attorney Sharon A. Israel. Israel advocates for clients in rapidly evolving industries including wireless communications systems and devices, consumer electronics, medical devices, oilfield services and others. Shook’s IP Practice stretches from coast to coast and includes more than 100 attorneys and analysts with engineering and computer degrees. The firm represents some of the world’s largest companies, including Microsoft Corp., Sprint Corp., Ford Motor Company, The Coca-Cola Company, Cerner Corp. and Garmin Ltd., in the IP arena.

Israel is a Chambers USA ranked IP litigation attorney who represents clients in intellectual property cases before district and appellate courts, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and the International Trade Commission. She is a past President of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, past Chair of the Intellectual Property Law Section for the State Bar of Texas, and past President of the Houston Intellectual Property Law Association. She currently serves on the Council for the Intellectual Property Section of the American Bar Association.

Israel is licensed to practice in Texas, Georgia, the United States Supreme Court and other federal appellate courts, as well as federal and state courts in Texas and Georgia. She is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She is a Fellow in the following prestigious organizations: American Bar Foundation; Texas Bar Foundation; Houston Bar Foundation; and the American Intellectual Property Law Association. She earned her law degree from Emory University School of Law, MBA from Emory University School of Business Administration and SB in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
