Strasburger & Price, LLP (Strasburger) is pleased to announce that Bonita L. Hatchett has joined the firm as a partner. She will work in Strasburger’s Houston office and practice with the employee benefits, executive compensation, pension and employee retirement practice groups, while also supporting the tax and labor and employment groups.
Bonita brings experience in advising on all aspects of ERISA compliance and IRS requirements regarding virtually every type of benefit plan, including establishing compensation and benefits committees, policy preparation and ERISA fiduciary matters and designing complex plans and agreements. She also negotiates with regulatory agencies on behalf of employers and multiemployer plans to prevent the assessment of penalties and excise taxes or the disqualification of plans.
Bonita has 17 years of law firm experience serving as outside ERISA and benefits counsel to national corporations, public sector entities, growth and middle-market companies, jointly trusteed funds as well as entrepreneurs in numerous industries, including a national retailer, educational institutions, philanthropic organizations and individuals on employee benefits matters.

Bonita completed her J.D. at the Rutgers University School of Law-Camden in 1996. She holds an LL.M. from the Georgetown University Law Center with a Certificate in Employee Benefits Law, and B.A. from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. She frequently speaks and writes on employee benefits topics, and serves as the Qualified Plans Co-Chair of the American Bar Association Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law and is admitted to practice in Illinois and New Jersey.
