Skilled Private Equity Lawyer Joins Latham in Houston

Latham & Watkins LLP is pleased to announce that James Garrett has joined the firm’s Houston office as a partner in the Corporate Department and as a member of Private Equity and Mergers & Acquisitions practices. His practice focuses on advising private equity and venture capital investors and their portfolio companies, as well as entrepreneurs and public and private companies. Garrett joins Latham from Vinson & Elkins LLP in Houston.

Garrett regularly counsels clients on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, growth equity and private financing transactions, joint ventures, and corporate reorganizations, as well as on general corporate matters. He works with clients across a broad range of industries, including energy, industrials, technology, software, digital infrastructure, renewables, and healthcare, among others.

He received his JD, magna cum laude, from the University of Houston Law Center and his Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University.
