The Orange County office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP has added J. David Bournazian as a shareholder. He joins the firm’s Litigation, Trial, Real Estate Litigation, Construction Law, and Retail Practices. A nationally recognized trial attorney, Bournazian joins from Troutman Sanders where he was a partner.

Bournazian is a trial litigator and advisor, often called upon by some of the largest companies in the world to handle their most difficult and sensitive matters. Drawing from his experience handling highly intricate litigation and business negotiations, he represents national and international clients, including well known and publicly traded companies, in both litigation and transactional matters. Businesses seek out Bournazian’s assistance in crafting their trial strategies when facing especially difficult litigation.
Bournazian has served as the general counsel for Frank Gehry and Gehry Partners, LLP, one of the most renowned architects in the world, and for a highly successful Fortune 50 international retail and accessories company.
He has also served as lead trial counsel in cases involving business, real estate, class action, complex construction, Proposition 65, corporate, coverage, and employment. His complex commercial litigation practice focuses on disputes, with an emphasis on real estate, construction and ADA challenges. Bournazian has represented a wide variety of construction projects including airports expansions, large retail developments, sports arenas, bridges and highways, university and government buildings, power plants, hospitals, and mixed-use towers. He also has wide-ranging experience in class action litigation and regulatory issues regarding consumer products, involving a variety of state, federal and international environmental, product safety, chemical management and related regulatory issues.

Before becoming a lawyer, Bournazian worked in the United States Government, as well as in environmental consulting and scientific development for private companies. He also oversaw NASA and Drug Enforcement Administration budgets in the White House and obtained congressional approval for presidential programs while serving in the financial management division of the Executive Office of the President during President George H. W. Bush’s administration. In 1996, he acquired his law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law. Five years earlier he had earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Rutgers University.
