Group Joins Butler Snow’s Business Department – Team Adds Depth to Real Estate & Corporate Practices

Butler Snow is pleased to announce that a team of four attorneys has joined the firm as members of the business department. Steven M. Hendrix, Robert C. Hutchison, Craig D. Smith and Thomas P. Watson join the firm adding significant experience in the areas of real estate, economic development, finance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and tax credit transactions.

Steve Hendrix focuses his practice on real estate transactions, economic development, finance, corporate governance and tax law. Hendrix holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accountancy and a Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi. He has over 28 years of experience in representing clients in many different types of business transactions and corporate structuring matters. Steve is recognized in Chambers USA®, The Best Lawyers in America® and Super Lawyers.

Robert Hutchison practices primarily in the areas of real estate development, commercial finance, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. He has 23 years of experience in transactional work and has structured and closed many complex, high value transactions. He is ranked in Chambers USA® and The Best Lawyers in America®. Hutchison received a bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Texas at Austin and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi.

Craig Smith’s practice focuses on real estate development, finance, leasing and mergers and acquisitions, both within and outside of Mississippi. He has over 23 years of legal experience. Craig is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association, the Florida Bar, the Hinds County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. Smith earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern Mississippi and his Juris Doctor from the Mississippi College School of Law.

Thomas Watson’s practice focuses on real estate development and financing. He is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association, the Alabama State Bar, the American Bar Association and Jackson Young Lawyers. Watson earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Mississippi and his Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama.
