Following a lunch with the office managing partner of this top-flight firm, we learned about a special situation that has led to the need to hire at least one and maybe two mid-level transactional associates. A partner who recently joined the firm (placed by us, too!) has had a great experience with bringing over and growing new clients, and some internal office transfers of well regarded people has caused a gap even though, more broadly, the firm is trying to avoid hiring. This is a great opportunity especially for someone who is new and moving to Houston (or Austin, if you prefer). Don't hold us to it, but we think this is one of only about three jobs in Houston where signing bonuses are a possibility for a stellar candidate. To be competitive, you'll need to have been working at a top-shop already. If you have that experience, though, we should talk.
