Our client is a boutique litigation firm with first class clients and first class work. Thanks to several new cases coming through the door, they are in dire need of asssociate additions to the team. For the successful applicant, this will be the chance to take the reins at a very early juncture in your career on some serious matters. Contact us to learn more, but here are the basics:
  • We have placed most of the associates at this firm. They come from various types of firms, and very successful attorneys have joined this firm both from boutiques and from Biglaw. Universal among the happy ones has been that they want to be able to take on a larger role in their cases.
  • There are various roles to play on this team, but the ideal person for this job would be someone who, if told in the second week that you will need to take or defend an important deposition in the third or fourth week, you will be excited about that prospect. Strong writing ability is a must.
  • The latest cases involve SEC related financial litigation, so financial literacy and familiarity with SEC litigation is a big plus.
  • Mostly remote work on this job is a distinct possibility, with the exception of critical case junctures, such as trial, and you'll also need to be able and willing to come into the office (UES) regularly.
  • This firm pays top "big firm" pay and bonuses, and sometimes exceeds those, but it would be unfair to pitch this as a "lifestyle" job. Some associates work 2000-2100 hours, but most exceed that and work 2,200-2,400. If that sounds dreadful, this one is probably not for you.
  • The credentials requirement in this job is definitely "Biglaw" level. You'll need to be a top 15 law school graduate and/or be able to otherwise demonstrate solid academic performance. Also, there will be a writing test...it's easy, and just takes a few hours, but one of our candidates did fail it once (oy vey!). We will not let that happen to you.
If this sounds interesting to you and you think you're possibly a fit, please write or call us for more information. As always, we will tell you EVERYTHING we know about the position to help make the process as efficient for everyone concerned as possible.
There are plenty of ways to reach us, but two good ones are: and +1-212-812-7062. You can also write directly to Robert Kinney on this....one of the senior partners at this firm is his old friend - or +1-512-636-1395.
