Senior Associate/Junior Partner for Commercial Trial Work
Our client is a boutique litigation firm with first-rate, mostly local clients. The partners in this firm are each experienced trial lawyers with plenty of actual, identifiable experience in the courtroom, who were mentored by some of the best attorneys in the country. They are looking to add a senior associate or junior partner (no book required) to shore up their team for significant new work that is arriving due to this firm's outstanding reputation. This position could be a fit for a local attorney already in Austin, but it's also a potentially outstanding fit for a transplant, someone who works in another major US market at a top-rated boutique or Biglaw firm, who wants to move to Austin. If you are looking to establish a career in Austin and you want to work on actual, practical trial work, for solid clients, on commercial matters, this could be for you. This is not going to involve summarizing depositions. You will be taking them, for the specific purpose of using them at a trial you will actually pick the jury for. You'll be a supported by other associates and a first-rate staff, as well as senior partners whose judgment and good humor will help make the job appealing, but you will be the center of the team on matters from as soon as you arrive. If this excites you, and if you attended a top-25 law school and performed well (not necessarily top of your class, but close enough), or you clerked for a solid judge, or you have worked at a top-flight firm and you are just tired of the idea of spending year after year with nothing but long hours and redlined drafts of documents you never file to show for your time, call us on this. This is a position that could be a fit for a fifth to seventh year associate who will make partner after 1-2 years, or you might walk right into partnership on the basis of your skills and personality alone. We can assess this after a conversation. Please send a resume and cover letter to and we will get right in touch.
