Vice President of Legal / Deputy Counsel
A regional healthcare provider (approx 1000 employees) has engaged Kinney Recruiting on a search for a Deputy Counsel for the company's headquarters in Melville, New York. The company was founded in New York City about 25 years ago with a single clinic, and has expanded to hundreds of locations within a 5 state radius along the Northeast. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a mature private-equity backed company in major growth mode.
We are interested in speaking with candidates with ten (10) or more years of experience working in the health law practice of a law firm or as in-house counsel for a healthcare provider. The Deputy Counsel will be responsible for overseeing all major business transactions (acquisitions, joint ventures, exits), counseling on legal matters impacting operations, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA, and manage any potential litigation. A JD from a US law school and admission to the New York bar is required. Members of the corporate office enjoy a hybrid schedule, so the candidate must be willing to come into the office at least two days a week. In compliance with the NYC Salary Transparancy Law, the base salary range for this role is $180k - 220k. The compensation package also includes a generous annual bonus, equity shares, and standard benefits.
