Ernie Van Der Vyver, a leading lawyer in the South African corporate insurance market, joins Clyde & Co today as a Partner in the Johannesburg office to further strengthen the firm’s South African presence in the insurance market.
Having spent the last decade working in a number of leading South African firms, Ernie has unrivalled knowledge of the South African insurance market and its developing regulatory framework. He joins Clyde & Co from South African firm Webber Wentzel.
Ernie is a specialist in corporate insurance and will add key transactional and regulatory capability to enhance the firm’s existing disputes focus.
His practice focuses on a wide range of issues related to the insurance industry, including: financial services related corporate transactions, advising international clients on the establishment and structuring of business operations in Africa, mergers and acquisitions and financial services regulation within Africa.
