Dentons is pleased to announce that commercial law and regulatory compliance partner, Anthony Crane, has joined the Firm in South Africa, where he is based in Johannesburg. Anthony specialises in advising clients on mergers and acquisitions and competition law in Africa, including South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Kenya, Swaziland, Tanzania and COMESA. Before joining Dentons, Anthony was an independent legal consultant and prior to that, he was a Director at Norton Rose Fulbright in South Africa.
Anthony advises clients on merger approvals, due diligence investigations, shareholder arrangements, investment structures and commercial contracts. He also has experience in advising clients on renewable energy and recently advised on South Africa’s renewable energy programme.
Anthony’s clients span a wide range of sectors including energy, aviation, construction, mining, retail, chemical, petroleum, property, telecommunications and financial services.

Anthony’s arrival follows the promotion of corporate and commercial lawyer Simla Ramdayal to partner in May 2016. Simla specialises in mergers and acquisitions, as well as the drafting and advising in relation to commercial contracts, company law, regulatory and compliance law.
Dentons has had a presence in Africa for over 50 years and continues to grow in South Africa following its launch in Cape Town in 2014 and in Johannesburg in 2015.
