Dentons, the world’s largest law firm, today announces that Scott H. Thompson joined its Real Estate practice as a partner in the Kansas City office. Thompson focuses his practice in the areas of banking and finance, real estate and corporate law and represents banks, institutional lenders, private equity funds and large publicly traded companies in debt financing and other credit vehicles.
Thompson conducts credit financing reviews and represents clients in all varieties of debt financing, including asset-based, commercial and industrial loans, commercial real estate lending, new market tax credit financing, letter of credit facilities, mezzanine and second-lien loans, syndicated loan facilities, and loan workouts. He also represents lessors and lessees in large equipment leases involving rail cars, barges, trucks, trailers and medical equipment. Thompson has substantial experience in the energy and the food and agribusiness industries. He recently represented an agricultural cooperative in a US$550 million secured loan and a commercial bank in the US$150 million loan with multiple tranches and collateral types.

Thompson holds a JD, cum laude, from Southern Methodist University (SMU) Dedman School of Law, and his BS in Accounting from Brigham Young University.
