Polsinelli welcomes Stephen J. Bahr as a Wealth Planning/Administration shareholder in its Kansas City headquarters office. Bahr brings more than 20 years of experience to the firm’s Business Department, with an extensive background in estate planning and business succession planning.
Bahr’s practice focuses on a variety of estate planning and business planning matters, including health care documents, powers of attorney, wills and trusts, business succession and estate and gift tax return preparation. He routinely provides counsel to high net worth individuals and families related to sensitive and complex estate and business planning issues.
“Steve’s deep knowledge in the wealth advising industry will serve as a fundamental asset to our Wealth Planning practice,” said Wealth Planning Practice Chair John Schmidt. “As the Business Department continuously strives to exceed our clients’ expectations, Steve’s experience and specialized approach in resolving estate and business planning matters will enable us to better deliver exceptional client service.”
Bahr also assists clients with the administration of estates and trusts, including dispute resolutions related to those transactions. As to his estate planning practice, his approach incorporates sophisticated techniques such as lifetime gifting transfers, family limited partnerships, charitable trusts and the use of irrevocable trusts.
“Polsinelli’s dedicated effort to deliver unique, best practices and state-of-the-art client service to its clients is what attracted me to this practice group, and I look forward to collaborating with the Wealth Planning team along with the other Polsinelli practice groups and professionals,” Bahr said.
Bahr actively serves as counsel to numerous closely-held business owners and advises them on a variety of matters, including the creation and development of business succession plans and the critical coordination of the succession plan with their estate plans.
He earned his J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law and a Bachelor of Science from Kansas State University. Prior to attending law school, Bahr practiced as a Certified Public Accountant for seven years.
