Squire Patton Boggs has appointed Jonathan Lent as partner in its Financial Services Practice Group in the London office. Mr. Lent joins from Gowling WLG, where he was a partner and co-led the firm’s real estate finance practice, as well as led the firm’s healthcare and hotel finance practices. Alongside Mr. Lent, the firm has appointed Bradley Silver as a director in the Real Estate Practice in London and two senior associates, Beatrice Sidi and Andrea Zemenides, in the Financial Services Practice. All three also join from Gowling WLG.
In a strategic move adding to its rapidly growing New York office, Cozen O’Connor is pleased to announce distinguished veteran commercial litigator Jeremy E. Deutsch and several attorneys from Anderson Kill have joined the New York Commercial Litigation Practice. A distinguished litigator with a unique background as a practicing corporate lawyer, he brings the fresh perspective that the corporate practice can exist as a form of centralized risk management with properly structured contracts helping to create productive partnerships and mitigating the risk of future litigation. Deutsch joins Cozen O’Connor as a shareholder. Joining with him will be Christian V. Cangiano, of counsel, Elliot J. Coz, counsel, and Eric W. Huang, Christopher Paolino, and Ian Bain as associates.
Martin Burke has joined Holland & Knight’s Tampa office as a partner in the Tampa Litigation Group. Mr. Burke represents corporate and government clients in high-risk and complex litigation matters in state and federal courts throughout the country. He was previously a partner with Burr & Forman.
To better support its clients and capitalize on key firm strengths, O’Melveny announced today the expansion of its footprint into Texas. In the initial phase, O’Melveny will open an Austin office led by four Chambers-ranked lawyers from Thompson & Knight LLP: partner Phillip Oldham and senior counsel Rex VanMiddlesworth have already joined the firm; partners Benjamin Hallmark and Katie Coleman will join shortly.
