International law firm Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP (BLP) has today (25 February 2015) announced the appointment of real estate finance specialist, Daniyal Ansari, as Partner in its Real Estate Finance (REF) Group. He will join the firm on 4 March 2015.
Previously a partner in the London banking team at Eversheds LLP, Daniyal brings a broad range of real estate finance expertise including investment, development and complex structured debt.
Daniyal advises many high profile real estate and finance clients and has recently acted on several significant investment transactions for Deutsche Bank AWM, Lloyds CRE and Deutsche Pfandbriefbank in his role as relationship partner.
BLP’s market leading real estate finance team is headed by Partner Naveen Vijh, who works alongside Partners Claire Watson and Steve Clark. The team specialises in complex, high value real estate finance deals for financial institutions, major developers and global corporate real estate clients such as Aviva, Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds, Deka, M&G, Cheyne Capital, Rockspring, Blackrock, Carlyle and CBRE Global Investors. The team recently advised Aviva on its £352m debt facility to Kennedy Wilson to finance the acquisition of 180 UK property assets from multiple receivers.
With Daniyal joining, BLP’s real estate finance team will be 35 lawyers strong which provides the deepest and broadest bench of any specialised real estate finance team in the City. The team works alongside BLP’s market leading real estate, construction and planning departments.
