Dechert LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that corporate partner Christopher Field and tax partner Jane Scobie have joined the firm in its London office. Field’s practice focuses on private equity and M&A transactions. Scobie’s practice focuses on tax aspects of commercial transactions, including private equity and M&A. Field and Scobie were previously partners at Kirkland & Ellis LLP in London.

“Chris has deep expertise in domestic and international private equity deals across multiple industries, which will directly benefit our clients in the UK and around the world,” said Mark Thierfelder, chair of the firm’s corporate practice. “Coupled with Jane’s significant experience developing tax strategies for complex transactions, the two will further strengthen our private equity practice in London and expand our global platform. We are thrilled to have them join us.”

Field advises clients on a broad range of domestic and international corporate and private equity matters, including disposals, equity capital markets, initial public offerings (IPOs) and M&A. He also represents both private and public companies in connection with reorganizations and recoveries. In addition, he has experience in advising on issues related to the Official List and AIM.

She also assists clients on employment taxation and share incentive arrangements.

“London remains a key center for global business and our continued growth bolsters our capabilities to serve our multinational clients,” said Camille Abousleiman, chair of the firm’s London office management committee. “Chris and Jane are great additions to our global private equity practice and we welcome them to the firm.”
